Volkswagen Das Auto Show 2011 ~ Vw showing off day Part 2

as we waited for almost an hour for our turn to enter the hall. My friend take turn to try the game

nothing fun about it for me about playing it and you cant even change your car or play it in manual mode. All you need to do is just sit in the bucket, hold the steering and kick the pedal for two laps

we being greeted with the VW logo and tag before we enter the hall

and another VW logo but this time with a signage saying...bag check

well....

as we search for a nice spot to sit and try to enjoy what ever they will bring us to, I notice theres a cars on the platform all around us

and look! theres a person inside the cars

after everyone is securely (yes they securely check is everyone seated), the media presentation about to start

at this moment I felt like we're about to get a few ride on going somewhere...feels like I'm in a spaceship or something like that

all of sudden the lights turn off and the cars starting up their engines and turning on the lights

a huge VW logo appear in front of us... feels like I'm being brought back to the hippies era's (I don't know about the hippies but it just poops out in my head)

and whatdaya know, the car starts to move all around us, so does the screen. Its like trying to simulate us that the car and us the audience are traveling together through out around the world

here's a bit of how it looks like in panorama mode, and yes the car actually move around us. At some few moment, they stopped after one passing by to introduce the models

after less than a 15 minute ride from the presentation, we're moving on to the other hall where the cars are being shown up close

the Polo

the Golf

the Polo GTI

the Golf GTI... uh, are they making every each of it a Gti version?

the all time favorite, the Scirocco

as I mingle around the hall, now it makes sense why they're allowing few visitors at a time

the Eos

the Passat CC

Tiguan with a babe beside it (why would they named it Ti-Guan? it sounds weird and how would you pronounce it? Thai, Thie, Theay?)

the Touareg ( even better looking from the previous)

oh look, even the fire extinguisher being well wrap, such a design manners

the last final look back at the scene before we're out from this place

but its not that easy to get out from here, we're been quarantine for few minute before we're allowed to exit. They said its for the temperature protection before you're out to the hot and warm world after being in an eskimo look like tent and a freezing aircondition

a large eskimo on a parking lot with people being quarantine inside... no, its not a X-file scene... its just a VW hippie camp

as we were out from this place, it was sharp at noon and look at the lines... even longer than the time we arrived... line up to be Das by VW

and I've being told it is log as almost 500 meter long all the way from the parking lot. Thank god we're arrive here earlier. The show was not too disappointing and I can say Im enjoying it  a little with the presentation, but I am so disappointed when it is not as how it was being told before this. There's no car shows, theres no classic VW lining up, theres nothing... Just a bunch of a huge eskimo tent, a new car to be show off and a well played presentation. That was my first time 360 video presentation. Feels like I was taken to another world for 15minute. But its not end here, as we're about to walk to the parking lot. We saw a VW galore lining up out side the entrance. Coming up next ~

Volkswagen Das Auto Show 2011 ~ Vw showing off day Part 1

It was on the early weekend, Im up just to get my self early in the morning to catch up the Volkswagen Das Auto Show 2011 Malaysia held at National Bukit Jalil Stadium. A prestige place for the event. The news spreads 2 month before the show start. I assume it will be something huge since it stated there will be a lineup of historical VW cars from the beginning until present. So I was excited to attend the event and making a cover for it.

The news on media about this event was bombarded for two month on the radio, television, news paper and on the net. Make it sounded like something big is coming on the day

the stadium being wrap a bit by the banners all around it. I wonder how huge it is

I thought I was among the earliest to arrived and as soon as I'm there...

I can see there's a line up from the entrance. I assume the door wasn't open yet

actually, they're lining up waiting for their turn to enter the hall. This was only half of it that line up in that early morning. The first car show I ever attend to line up before enter...

I've been told that there will be a media show and something that never been done before here in Malaysia. They're allowing 300 people to enter the hall one at a time.

before entering the hall, we needed to line up again inside for registration and some few survey to fill in the form.

thats my partner lining up at the next row beside me, we were chasing the line to see who get to the front first. Seems from the picture its like I'm winning but I was wrong. He won.

after being registered and fill in some survey form, they stamped us with the VW logo as prove that we're already register and allow to enter. At this moment Im feel like Im already being Das by VW (lol). Im Das Auto

my number shows that Im the 1169 guest

after the registration, we're being asked to wait in the waiting room... It feels like err... I dont know how to describe it.

crowded by other human being waiting for their number to be call to enter the hall

Beside there's place to sit and a table, they're providing a driving simulator to kill the bordeness and time wasted. Its actually a Grand Tourismo 5 game with the steering wheel and a bucket seat. Most people thought it was a real driving simulator

Im lining up to join in the game before my number being call

as my partner we're busy snapping photos or should I say babe hunting

After almost a hour waiting for my turn. I finally get my self on the bucket seat and my hand on the steering. Didn't enjoy too much, just to kill the time while waiting to be call.

after few minute I'm done playing the game, our number being called and its our turn to enter the hall.

as the people fill the seats, we we're searching the best spot to enjoy the show and we hangout at the center of the hall. At this moment, we were so excited to see the media show. More to come on the part 2 ~ stay tune

Spotted: Red Hot 'Z' from the 70's

Its was a good tuesday and I was about to fetch my fellow partner for a lunch due to Im happen to be on that area. As soon as I arrived there to fetch him, I notice a red furious thinggy passing by entering my friend apartments area. I quickly turned around and hunting for it.

as we drive around the parking lots and the parking areas for few minute, finally we spotted it! It is a 1970's Nissan s30 or Datsun 260z in red blood that looks beefy and mean. In other word - it has proper stance and in perfect shape with most all  its originally limbs attached. (except for the rims)

the first ever 240z model was build back at 1970 knows as the Nissan Fairlady Z in Japan and Datsun 240z in other markets. But the one you're looking at here called the 260z

its one of a rare creation now days to see on the street of Malaysia. Especially in a perfect and complete conditions. Design by Yoshihiko Matsuo or widely known as Mr.K

as I walked around it, I noticed theres few changes has been made. Or maybe an improvised from its originally stand.

such as the side signals has been moved to behind of the wheel instead of the front area as how the originally being placed.

the rear still maintaining its best as how it was from the beginning

a high up for sound and performance has been made on the exhaust for more kudos on the look

what ever how it looks like and how it being change too. Still it look best as how it was originally. Who ever the owner of this hot red 240z really knows how to taking care of it. The marks of the 'Z'

Spotted: Ford Cortina TC Mark III on white wall. The true beauty.

As I was driving around back from my friend wedding on last weekend, I stumble upon this beauty parked at the side of the street. As soon as I saw it, I make a quick turn and park my car not far from it. Luckily since I bought this Sony Nex 5, I never left my camera at home every time I'm out.

As I walk near to it, I notice its a Ford Cortina TC Mark III made back those years in 1970. This was the third generation of Ford Cortina since 1962.

This beauty is one of the rare classic to be found here in Malaysia, especially the one that is complete and perfect condition.

The Mark III Detroit inspired by the "coke-bottle shaped". It was a hit among fleet buyers back those years.

I'm not sure this what based this Cortina is. Theres a L based for Luxury, XL (Xtra Luxry), GT (Grand Touring), GXL (Grand Xtra Touring). From the look at it Im pretty sure its a GT based.

If this beauty is GT based, then its powered with a 1.6 engine. There were 1.3, 1.6 and 2.0 for GXL based. *Notice the black ride beside? I'll cover it up later on

Its equipe with a Titan Racing 15 inch rims on a Falken and white wall for an extra beauty boost

I never see a such perfect complete MK III Cortina

as it stated " CORTINA " a true beauty

the color and the rims really matched with the white wall

I didn't get to meet the owner. Already knocked the house but theres no answer. Respect to whoever owned this beauty.
